Biography
Mum Thinks Blue are five goofballs from Adelaide - Hannah, Austin, Joe, Joaquin and Josh, who met and fell in love with each other in their final year of High school. Since their live debut in 2019, the band have worked on developing a unique sound, combining styles of indie funk, rock and jazz. Committed to writing upbeat groovy tunes and constantly providing energetic and fun live sets, Mum Thinks Blue have established a loyal and loving fanbase, as well as supporting the likes of Polish Club, Telenova, Alex Lahey on top of joining the stage with King Stingray, Ocean Alley, Spacey Jane and Arctic Monkeys to name a few. 2022 was a big year for MTB which saw the band release two singles ‘Headspin’ which was met with praise, being described as “getting punched in the heart by the sun” by Triple J’s Max Quinn and even earning them an Unearthed Feature Artist slot. Then releasing their second song of the year ‘Side That Wasn’t Told’ which saw rotation on Triple J Unearthed as well as winning the Unearthed competition to play at Heaps Good Fest 2023! Off the back of their first festival appearance, the band are gearing up for what will be a big 2023. Mum Thinks Blue are buzzing after the positive response from their two releases last year, and are excited to follow that up with an additional three releases this year.
