Biography

Stanley began in 2016 when Ryan Gebhardt began recording the self-title debut LP. It was released on Forged Artifacts (USA) and King Forward Records (NL) in the fall of 2017 and coincided with Ryan's move to Minneapolis. With a new band in Minneapolis, Stanley released a handful of singles including With Any Luck and Right Hand Blue (Nice Guys), and did several tours, playing with bands like Post Animal, Purple Funk Metropolis, Slow Pulp, Berta Bigtoe, Sleepy Gaucho, and many others. Stanley's sophomore release, Afternoon Stanley, came in early 2020 on Acrophase Records. Following a hiatus, Stanley went back to Future Condo Studios in Minneapolis to begin recording the third LP. The first single, Spotlight, is out now and the album will be out in the summer of 2022. Header photos by Marie Renaud
