‘headcage’ encapsulates years of meticulous process, blending colossal, riff driven instrumentation with fiercely melodic and incredibly vulnerable vocal crooning. With influences that lie within the early noughties Post-Hardcore, Emo & Metal brackets, ‘headcage’ present their contemporary interpretation of the styles and sounds that shaped their musical endeavours, pulling no punches in delivering bone crunching low-tuned riffs yet simultaneously offering very controlled and intensely melancholic lyrical content. ’headcage’ proudly display their adoration of the Hard Rock/Alternative scene with a truly authentic representation of themselves as musicians and people. Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK), the Post-Hardcore 4-piece have garnered strong attention from Radio 1’s Nels Hylton with all of their first four singles being featured on his Future Alternative show, multiple singles featured as ‘track of the week’ and being included in the top tracks of the 2022 rundown. ‘headcage’ has also been broadcast by Alyx Holcombe on her Radio 1 Introducing Rock Show. ‘headcage’ firmly cement themselves as ones to watch in both their regional and national Rock circuits, by being included in BBC Introducing’s Top Tips for 2023. Moving forward into 2023, the band intends to keep building on the sharp momentum they have achieved by releasing their strongest musical output to date and establishing themselves as a formidable live act.
