Pretty Sister was born in Los Angeles on the northbound 405 freeway in a 1968 Buick LeSabre, with “More Bounce to the Ounce” playing hazily in the background. Today, that same old-school nostalgia smothers the artist/songwriter/producer’s genre-bending sound, which shamelessly melds ’70s West Coast funk with an appreciation for a commercial pop hook.
