Biography
“I think there’s a lot of power in vulnerability,” explains Grace Gaustad, the talented troubadour who embodies a raw ability to convey the joy and pain of the human experience in the modern age. “Everyone goes through the exact same thing.” Known for a string of passionate covers (including “Take Me To Church'') as well as the trailblazing success of their self-released 2021 album BLKBX: wht r u hding?, Gaustad has successfully garnered a global fan base built on a foundation of inclusivity & acceptance. It’s a knack for holding up a relatable musical mirror that listeners can gaze into and feel seen, which they continue on their upcoming sophomore album, PILLBX: whts ur fantasy?. Writing & singing since the age of 5, Gaustad draws heavily from their personal life, with BLKBX inspired by their first 18 years with tracks focusing on topics ranging from anxiety to sexuality, including the LGBTQ anthem “Red.” “My goal from the beginning is to bring people together and to give those who have been marginalized a safe space.” PILLBX, meanwhile, zooms out on a fantasy world with Gaustad traveling through the adventures of their own imagination. “When you can’t change the unchangeable, what do you do?” is the question they pose on the album which Gaustad wrote and recorded themselves. It’s no wonder why Billboard declared in 2021 that “there aren't too many 19 year-olds with the vocal firmness of Grace Gaustad." https://linktr.ee/gracegaustad
