Biography
J NICS is an unforgettable lyricist of multiple sides, viewpoints, and positions: he’s a burgeoning lyricist and established vet who focuses on the grittiness of life instead of its most glamorous aspects. Hailing from Miami, FL, J NICS has put on for his city for over a decade, collaborating with some of the city’s most important artists as he continues to carve out his legacy. In spite of all of this, he’s still just beginning — preparing to take over as he grips the microphone harder than ever. J NICS released his debut mixtape, The Stimulus Package, in 2010. Packed from top to bottom with an authentic lens to his upbringing and current realities, it resonated with not just listeners, but critics on the blogosphere who began to cover him. By the following year, he was performing at South by Southwest and A3C. In 2012, he worked with legendary Atlanta producer DJ Burn One on a collaborative album, Darkside, which featured artists like Freddie Gibbs, Scotty ATL, and more. Over the years, J NICS continued to build his craft, collaborating with Floridian rappers like Denzel Curry, Ronny J and Robb Bank$ ~Trey Alston
