Biography
Alexander Lewis is an L.A.-based producer, musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist who blends jazz, trap and hip-hop. A lifelong trombone student, Lewis first developed his sound while studying jazz performance at the Manhattan School of Music in NYC and playing backup horns at a weekly hip-hop jam session. After discovering dance music, he combined these three diverse cultures to create the signature Alexander Lewis sound. Debuting in 2014, he quickly garnered millions of streams across his brief discography. In Sept. 2015, he self-released his debut '7 Day' EP, followed by his 2016 self-released 'Forward' EP. In June 2018, he released his breakthrough OMNI. EP, which counts at 10 million collective streams and includes collaborations with MadeinTYO, Brasstracks, and others. His self-released 'Red' EP (July 2019) showcases his wide-ranging skills as a producer, composer, arranger and classically trained musician. He will continue the color-themed EP concept series in 2020 with the hip-hop-focused ‘Green’ EP, featuring Chief Keef and T-Shyne, and ‘Blue’ EP. Outside of his solo music, he’s produced for global stars like Juice WRLD, Rita Ora, YBN Cordae, AlunaGeorge and several others. On the live front, Lewis has performed as a live trombonist with major artists like Louis the Child, GRiZ, and Lido, in addition to solo performances at Coachella, Electric Zoo and Lightning in a Bottle.
