Biography
Yves Tumor shifts, alters, and plays with the boundaries of contemporary art and culture. In November 2022, Yves Tumor re-emerged on God Is a Circle, first new music since 2021’s acclaimed The Asymptotical World EP and hot on the heels of appearing as the only featured artist on the WILLOW album . The single is produced by Noah Goldstein (Frank Ocean, Kanye West), and mixed by Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails), with Yves bringing in band members/collaborators Chris Greatti + Rhys Hastings and background vocals by Ecco2K + Thoom. The single comes paired with an equally visceral video, directed by Jordan Hemingway. Yves Tumor recently concluded an extensive global tour, including a slew of top tier festivals from Pitchfork to Outside Lands, a coveted slot opening for Florence + the Machine, and a run of dates both in the UK + US supporting Nine Inch Nails. Yves Tumor has been praised by The New Yorker as “unmissable” and has been compared to the likeness of Prince by The Washington Post and Grace Jones by The Austin Chronicle. The Asymptotical World EP, co-produced + engineered by longstanding collaborator Yves Rothman, included the acclaimed single, Jackie. The EP followed Yves Tumor’s last full length album, Heaven To A Tortured Mind, written and composed by Yves Tumor, and produced by Yves Tumor and Justin Raisen (Sky Ferreira, Charli XCX). Previously, Yves Tumor debuted with Warp Records via the acclaimed Safe In The Hands of Love.
