Biography

Hailing from rural Alabama, Clever materializes with haunting melodies, and unexplainable mystique. After doing a bid, the poet turned battle rapper initially cut his teeth as a freestyle battle champion on BET’s Spring Bling and 106 & Park. He would eventually gain ground as a songwriter for everyone from David Foster to Snoop Dogg before dropping the single “When Only You Will Do” in 2018. The song caught the attention of Juice WRLD and Grade A Productions who eventually signed Clever. Soon after, he appeared on “Ring Ring” from Juice WRLD’s double platinum-certified debut, Death Race for Love, which bowed at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 in 2019. In its wake, Clever unleashed the mixtape Who Is Clever? The standout “Stick By My Side” [feat. NLE Choppa] racked up 25 million plus Spotify streams and turned Post Malone into a fan, leading to a joint deal between Grade A and Posty Co under Republic Records in 2020. Kicking off the year, he featured on Justin Bieber’s “Forever” alongside Post, marking his second appearance on a #1 album in six months. In 2021, Clever released “Rolls Royce Umbrella” featuring Chris Brown- his first record to hit the Top 40 Rhythmic Radio charts... as well as a song titled “Penelope” along side Finnish artist William which would become the longest running #1 single in the history of the Finland Billboard Charts. In 2022, Clever is gearing up to release his next album titled "Lonely"
