Biography

Dead/Awake is an experimental deathcore quintet based in Rockford, IL. Established in 2017, the group set out to channel the more sporadic, visceral, and sometimes campy sounds that helped define the 2000s era of the sub-genre. In late 2018, Dead/Awake released their breakthrough single, “Vagabond,” which has surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify. Since then, the band has released two LPs and has accumulated millions of streams across platforms. Dead/Awake is also regularly featured on prominent editorial playlists, such as All New Metal, Deathcore and New Blood. 
 Currently, the group consists of vocalist Dillon James Hare, guitarists Michael Campa & Michael Levi, bassist Anthony Schlickman, and drummer Payton Kuhn. Their third EP, “Feral” is slated for a late 2023 release.
