Lulu His real name is Lawrence Khwisa.He was born on 7th May 1983.He adopted the name 'LULU' from his grandfather 'Mr Kalulu'.The artist is based in Lilongwe. He started singing at the age of 16 using a guitar which his grandfather bought for him, his father was a member of a quartet that used to rehearse in their house, these meetings awakened his interest in "music", then he decided to sing in church he became a member of the praise team of the Kawale Assemblies of God Harvest Temple, thus began a musical journey that was characterized by the fusion of R&B and Pop music. He decided to be different. He decided to merge R&B & Pop & compliment with instruments with messages of chichewa matures so that they can get along very well with Malawians. he has made inroads as young people and adults love his music. for adults, they like the Serious touch in his music because I don't sing childish things, to make others laugh" says Lulu. He released his first single 'Magwiragwira' in the early 2000.Later he joined 'Zembani band' owned by 'Sir Lucius Banda ' as a guitarist.In 2006 Lulu was made a band leader after the arrests of Lucius Banda.Afterwards he left Zembani band and sets up his own 'Mathumela Production(recording studio) and band. He is a skillful guitarist who used to make his own guitars to harbour his fascination for the instrument,Lulu's silky smooth RnB voice is immediate as it is captivating. He is a full time music producer,writer,composer and a Jazz guitarist.
