Biography
With a voice reminiscent of 00's R&B that is instantly recognisable, Joseph Marcus' sound is formed through a blend of catchy Pop song-writing and contemporary electronic production, injected heavily with R&B and Art Pop influences. Writing songs on the piano from the age of 12, Joseph has drawn from a diverse web of musical influences from the likes of Neo-Soul staples Jill Scott and Musiq Soulchild to art-pop innovators such as Imogen Heap and Björk, to create music spanning the realms of both Pop and R&B. His debut EP ROOT garnered over 750,000 streams on Spotify alone, along with multiple features on editorial Spotify playlists such as New Music Friday UK, The Pop List, and United Kingdom Viral 50. Joseph followed this up with the release of In This Room Alone, a creative endeavour that was totally self-produced. Having supported names such as James Vickery and Tom Walker in live shows, and worked with respected songwriters including The Six and Sophie Cooke (Frances), Joseph is moving onto rolling out his next pop offering in 2023...
