Biography

It’s only natural for Jakarta, Indonesia-based singer-songwriter, Dennis Ferdinand to expand his unexplored ideas to a new creative outlet called Manny Rune. Inspired by 60’s-80’s pop music acts such as The Beach Boys , Carpenters, Stephen Bishop & Daryl Hall & John Oates combined with some modern influences like Mayer Hawthorne & Men I Trust, Dennis was determined to fulfill some artistic desires that were overlooked in his previous bands. As the leader – and the only permanent member – of Manny Rune, Dennis has been able to prove that he’s able to write something that can be enjoyed in the dark of the night through the light of the day.
After releasing a double singles ("Seafoam", a Steely Dan-esque song and "Bonne Nuit", a The Blue Nile-esque song), Manny Rune is back with "Jubilee". Started off with a very jangly chorus-y guitar (performed by Vari Rivano from Rimba), on point bass (performed by Alexander Bryan from KURR.) and later followed by a distorted vocals from Dennis are something that unexpected by his listeners. That is one of the proofs that the long-awaited album from Manny Rune is full of surprise. Follow my inspiration playlist here! Bronze, Silver & Gold - What I've Been Listening To
