Biography

Formed at a hazy Scottish Festival many moons ago, the Devon duo Moriaty began life a a means to an end. The End being to simply have some fun, the means being a set of drums, a guitar and a loads of amps and pedals. 
 2014’s Debut Album “The Devils Child” was produced by the legend that is John Cornfield (muse, supergrass) and is lyrically inspired by the writings of Christopher Hitchens. 
 Since then the band released single “Bones” 2015 featuring and produced by Chris Wolstenholme of Muse fame. 
 2020 sees the release of their sophomore record “The Die Is Cast”. A record that chronicles immense changes in the bands personal lives, along with the rollercoaster ride of western culture and politics since 2016. It has already received critical acclaim in a number of publications.
 Their ferocious live shows, killer riffs, beats & hooks have carved out a name for themselves as one of the most exciting live bands of the era.
 The name comes from the Conan-Doyle Sherlock Holmes novels, basing their songs and attitudes in the darker side of logical thought and the character James Moriarty.
