Biography

Wild Skies is a folk-rock quartet from Chicago, IL. The band formed when singer-songwriter Aaron Lechlak placed a craigslist add seeking session players for a solo project in early 2014. The finished 6-song EP eventually became the groups first release of songs. Joining the band was opera-trained singer Kristine Sorum-Williams, jazz trained bassist Tommy Good, and folk-rock drummer Andy Kearns. Leaning heavily on big three-part harmonies and story telling, the quartet is best described as folk-pop, drawing comparisons to predecessors like The Head and the Heart and Delta Rae. The group released their first full studio effort as a band, From Far Below, in April 2017, with a premier on The Bluegrass Situation, and press from Paste Magazine and The Deli Magazine (Chicago). In December 2017 Wild Skies released the single Glory with a premier on the popular folk blog For Folks Sake. The song shows a bit more polish and production than previous releases.
