Biography

Justin Kniest, also known as JUST, is a Dutch singer-songwriter whose music blends elements of Avant-Pop, Synthwave, and Indie Rock. His sound has been compared to that of Talk Talk, and David Sylvian. In October 2021, JUST released his debut album, Deep Cycles, which was produced by minco eggersman and features performances by Lothar Kosse and Stephen Smith. The album received rave reviews upon its release, with Music Maker calling it a "beautiful record" and OOR praising its "comforting emotions wrapped in atmospheric 80's sounds." HIFI.nl described it as full of "dynamic and rich textures." Deep Cycles" was voted Vinyl of the Month in Lust For Life magazine in July 2022. In addition to his work as a solo artist, JUST also contributed guitar work to the track Wave Upon Wave on the album Solace by Held By Trees. This album, which was released on April 22nd, 2022, features Talk Talk veterans Robbie McIntosh and Martin Ditcham and was well-received by critics at Mojo, Classic Pop, and BBC Radio 6. On April 29th, 2022, Solace entered the UK Indie Charts at #12.
