Biography
Dog Fashion Disco was formed in 1995 in Rockville, Maryland. The band's sound is a unique blend of different genres, including rock, metal, jazz, and even circus music. Their live shows are known for theatrics, with the band often dressing in costumes and incorporating props into their performances. In 2006, Dog Fashion Disco had the opportunity to work with Serj Tankian, the lead singer of System of a Down. Tankian provided guest vocals on the song "Mushroom Cult" from the band's album "Anarchists of Good Taste". Tankian's contribution added another layer of complexity to the already intricate track, making it one of the standout songs on the album. In 2005 Dog Fashion Disco was approached to create the score for the Dominion prequel to the Exorcist. The band jumped at the opportunity, eager to showcase their talents beyond their usual musical endeavors. The score they created perfectly captured the eerie and unsettling tone of the film. The band's work on the score was praised by critics and fans alike, further cementing their reputation as a band with limitless creative potential. Despite their success, Dog Fashion Disco decided to go on hiatus in 2007. However, the band reunited in 2014, much to the delight of their fans. They have continued to tour and release music, with their most recent album, "Cult Classic," which came out in 2022.
