Biography
It's hard to pin down Postindustrial Poets. Their last EP (out 3 May) sent them into space in the footsteps (do you have them in space?) of Syd Barrett. Minds and Bodies (out July 14) takes them back to their blues, soul and indie rock roots. It's almost a concept EP - three tracks that look at relationships in different ways. And a spontaneous approach - with one guitar and vocal track captured direct to microphone. The Poets songs tell stories of modern life - sometimes emotionally, but never sentimentally. They want you to listen to the words. Their sound Is guitar-based - exuberantly so in in tracks like That’s When You Blew My Mind and The Million Year Orbit. But the recent collaboration with Atrip on Thousand Dollar Shoes has a swaggering, funky feel, and those trademark, gritty and soulful vocals. And there are more surprises in the pipeline
