Biography
The New York born caribbean artist Etzia, raised in Sweden, started her musical journey 2008 on a compilation by swedish dancehall reggae producer “Partillo" (Chronixx, Lutan Fyah, Machel Montano, Norris Man, Anthony B, Gappy Ranks etc) and has been a big part of the movement since then. In 2011 she teamed up with german based soundsystem/radioshow/label "Jugglerz" (in that time "Sentinel sound") and made herself a name on the european scene, with frequent tours and features on riddim compilations. After taking a break to complete her bachelors in music at Gothenburg university, she started working on her own sound, releasing the EP “Chapter Done”. Much influended by the current dubstep and trap wave, she called her style traphall. Eventually she decided to reevaluate her music and started the “Mambia project”, releasing her debut album “Motivation” on her own label “Mambia records" in collaboratation with "Rudeboy music group”. She has done numerous collaborations with artists such as Charly Black, Collie Buddz, Future Fambo, Hardcore Superstar to name a few. On her latest single “Let My Spirit Fly" (originally from the album “Motivation”) she teams up with the dancehall giant Sean Paul. While continuing her work with "Let My Spirit Fly" and the full length album, she’s already making plans for the future, involving collaborations, new music, new expressions, new heights.
