Before the King is Dean Smusko (Vocals), Oscar Dalkin (Guitar), Dan Radomsky (Bass) and Gabe Jammy (Drums), four shaggy-haired garage rock cultists from Sydney’s Inner West. Their new EP ‘All That You Know’ is an important moment for the band. This EP symbolises the band taking a moment to look back on the path they’ve travelled and ask themselves, ‘where to next?’ The title ‘All That You Know’ and the name of the EP’s penultimate track, is a reference to everything the band has learned along its 6 year journey, and a solemn moment of reflection - what has it all been worth? It’s a question that every artist faces many times, but with ‘All That You Know’ Before the King decides to keep moving forward and forge their own identity. Perhaps nowhere is this more clear than the aforementioned title track. A cruisey yet cathartic slowburner that pays homage to the titans of 00’s indie, but stands confidently in its own sound. ‘All That You Know’ symbolises the band reflecting on their past and turning their heads toward the future, with a triumphant declaration that Before the King will continue to carve out their own path.
