Biography
Mosa Wild are a the Kent-based quartet, fronted by Jim Rubaduka, write anthems like you and I might procrastinate over the next coffee. It’s instinctive and second nature. Heart emphatically on sleeves. Nobody needs to suggest they ever look up, because each of their songs to date, from the widescreen, spiralling Smoke to the intimate, atmospheric Cry Baby have headed suitably skyward. Theirs is a sound that few contemporary artists dabble in. There are bits of Arcade Fire here, suggestions of The National there, gentle nods to Doves, but in essence, Mosa Wild aren’t akin to any of those artists, albeit there’s that electrifying, unifying, can’t-quite-put-into-words spirit they all possess. Rubaduka has a real ear for melody and a way with words that borders on the spiritual. Vocalist, lyricist, songwriter Jim’s a man who tends to know what he wants and with steely determination. He knows where Mosa Wild should eventually take him and his friends. The songs tend to find a template through his penchant for time, space, patience and melody. The forthcoming new recordings aren’t as frenetic as the band’s opening salvo, but it’s fitting for these stranger times. Reflective and considered. Yearning. Music is forever, take your time. Expect Me is the first music to be taken from upcoming Zip Your Coat Up For English Weather EP.
