Biography
Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, indie- pop-rock four piece Flag Duty have spent the last couple of years developing a colourful sound and establishing themselves as energetic and eccentric entertainers. The band - singer Ben Hobart, bassist Tom Jolly, guitarist Abi Ashford and drummer Lachlan Barnard - draw on an eclectic mix of modern and nostalgic musical influences to create their genre-blending sound, combining the musical hooks of indie-rock with catchy pop melodies and honest lyricism. Following the 2021 release of their debut EP, ‘Living in Daydreams’ - a bookmark in the lives of the band and its members - Flag Duty demonstrated an evolution in their sound with 2022’s single Distance. The track was accompanied by multiple sold out headline shows throughout the year, with the band’s venerated live performances meeting growing and excited crowds. After burying their heads in the studio for some time, Flag Duty are eager to share what they’ve been working on in 2023.
