Biography

ig: coalsmusic Coals is a young duo consisting of Kacha and Lucassi. The band quickly gained recognition among listeners thanks to their homemade recordings, which they published on YouTube several years ago. Coals has performed at numerous international festivals, including Positivus, Pohoda, Tune In-Tel Aviv, Primavera Sound, and Iceland Airwaves. While in Reykjavik, they also recorded a video session for the legendary KEXP radio at Kex Hostel. The band has also played at significant Polish festivals such as Open'er, OFF, and Fest. In 2017, they released their warmly received debut LP titled "Tamagotchi." The album was a concept album influenced by hauntology and the aesthetics of glitch. Coals' music is often characterized by a variety of genres and subgenres, but the band prefers not to be limited to any specific category. After that, Coals released the dreamlike, near-trap, and somewhat experimental EP "Klan" (2019), written exclusively in Polish. Although the EP represented a stylistic change, Coals gained new audiences and further recognition by following this path. In 2020, the duo released their second LP titled "docusoap." Interestingly, the only feature on the album was British producer felicita, known for their work with the PC Music label. The album was well-received and earned the duo nominations for the Fryderyk Awards and Empik Bestsellers. Currently, the duo is working on a full-length album in Polish.
