Biography
Thomas Oliver represents the openness of the mind and the heart, both as a musician and as a human. He touches people's lives in all corners of the globe as he draws a connection between various forms of music that could otherwise be considered opposites, and he invites people into an artistic perspective which is entirely unique. Whilst he is primarily a Roots/Soul Singer/Songwriter, his warm demeanour and story-telling on stage are as much a part of his musical identity as his unmistakable falsetto-singing range or his world-renowned touch on the lap-slide guitar, or his celebrated vocal contributions to the genre of Drum & Bass music (for which he was a finalist for the Best Vocalist Award at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards). Thomas Oliver is the epitome of the term, “one-of-a-kind”. As a touring act, Thomas Oliver has toured multiple times throughout Europe, UK, New Zealand and Australia and has landed spots at festivals such as Sziget Festival in Hungary, Monsoon Festival in Vietnam, Boardriders in England, and four performances at NZ's Homegrown Festival. Thomas has released music via V2 Records, Hospital Records, Universal Music, Blackout Music, Tenfold Records, Hybrid Music, Spearhead Records, RAM Records and Uprising Records, and his all-instrumental album titled 'Beneath The Weissenborn' firmly established him as one of the world's leading players of the Weissenborn guitar, pushing the instrument to new levels and gaining several million views on YouTube.
