Biography

Raised in a small coastal town in the UK, Cooza spent his years growing up listening to folk music, looking out beyond the water. 
 Travelling up & down the country every year to see family, road trips have been his biggest inspiration. Blasting Joni Mitchell with the windows down, longing for the mountains whilst listening to Ben Howard, and winding down with some Sufjan Stevens. Cooza, nature, and travel go hand-in-hand. The trees and the earth are prevalent in almost every song, alongside the desire to explore every corner of the world. These elements come together in the form of Cooza’s simple & sweet lullaby-like tunes, perfect for travelling with & playing before bed. 
 Freak-folk & Folktronica artists also show up in Cooza’s sound. Aldous Harding, Bon Iver, Adrianne Lenker, Twain, Jesca Hoop, and many more help shape the oddities lurking within Cooza’s gently eccentric songs. 
 Cooza brings the past & future of folk music together, and will be expanding his sound even further with the forthcoming release of a brand new full-length project.
