Biography
When Eckhardt And The House started they treated the listener to laid-back, easy listening, trendy nerdy and surprisingly accessible hipster sounds. Over the years Eckhardt And The House has developed towards a more uptempo and danceable indie sound but certainly didn’t lose any charm. The band has been taking elements from pop to avant-garde to funk and twisted it all up into a signature sound with wild experimentation and disregard for the norm. Eckhardt And The House is the project by producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and actor Rik Elstgeest. In recent years, singles from Eckhardt And The House have appeared in the iTunes Charts of: Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Vietnam, Romania, Turkey, Ireland, Spain, Brazil, South Africa and Japan. In Spotify, singles reached the viral charts of countries such as: France Italy, Netherlands and Turkey. On radio, one could hear singles of the band on national radio stations of: Belgium (VRT 1, VRT 2, Studio Brussel), Netherlands (NPO Radio 1, NPO Radio 2, 3FM, NPO Radio 5), Switzerland (RTS 1, RTS Couleur 3, SRF 1, SRF 3, Radio Swiss Pop), Germany (WDR 5), UK (Amazing Radio), Luxumbourg (Radio 100.7), Latvia (Radio NABA 6), Australia (Triple J) and on smaller stations in the USA, France, Russia, Canada, New Zealand, Austria, Italy, Poland and Norway. Press coverage rolled in from Denmark to Japan and from the United States to Australia.
