Biography

A singer/songwriter based in London, England. Critically acclaimed from Le Parisien and Les Inrocktible (France) to Rolling Stone (Germany), Globe & Mail, Montreal Gazette and La Presse (Canada). Alejandra Ribera has toured extensively sharing stages with Ron Sexsmth, Chilly Gonzales, Melody Gardot, Arthur H, Rufus Wainwright, The Blind Boys of Alabama and The Barr Brothers to name a few. Born and raised in Canada, she first established her career working with producer Jean Massicotte (Patrick Watson, Lhasa de Sela) on her debut album La boca which earned her the SOCAN (Canada's PRS/SACEM) Song of the Year for "I Want”. La boca was nominated for the German Record Criticʼs Prize. She recorded her sophomore album THIS ISLAND with sound engineer L. Stu Young (Prince) and engineer / producer Trina Shoemaker (Queens of the Stone Age, Sheryl Crow). Ribera has also contributed to projects of longtime collaborators Bïa, Yves Desrosiers, Sébastien Hoog and most recently on JS Williams’ album Twelve Circles, The Break, The Cast. She has recorded a new Spanish language concept record.
