Biography

Legendary Rock and Blues singer Jan Blohm was born in 1978 in Kroonstad. He started music and piano lessons at the age of 7. After school he joined the South-African Airforce where he learned to play the guitar. Between 1998 and 2003 he performed as a member of the rock bands Demigods, Ledd Eye and Duin 7. His solo career started in 2003 and in 2004 he released his first solo album titled ‘’Melkstraat Confessions.’’ In 2005 he mad his acting debut in the TV series ‘’Dit wat stom is.’’ He has won several awards including a Sama best Afrikaans DVD for ‘’Live at the Performer’’ in 2008. Jan Blohm has enjoyed great critical acclaim for his albums that include ‘’Groen Trui,’’ ‘’Breyten se Brief,’’ ‘’Lotus,’’ ‘’7 jaar,’’ ‘’Ruby’’ and many more. Apart from writing music and Touring Jan is also an accomplished painter and owns and operates a gallery in Somerset West in the Western Cape.
