Biography
Uganga is one of the most expressive and relevant groups in Brazilian rock/metal scene. With over 25 years of career, the band has released five studio albums and a live work recorded in Germany. Uganga has performed in almost all regions of Brazil, participated in the most important festivals and performed two European tours that together add up to 28 shows in 13 countries. “Servus”, the fifth studio album by the group from Minas Gerais state, is the band's most successful work so far. The album was financed by two relevant awards, one of them being Wacken Foundation, the German non-profit organization created in 2008 by the producers of Wacken Open Air – the biggest heavy metal festival on the planet. “Servus” was nominated among the “Best Albums of 2019” by more than 20 media vehicles! - “Incredible” (Collectors Room); - “Servus is one of those albums that deserve to be placed on one of the pedestals of the great works already released by Brazilian bands.” (Heavynroll); - "A first class work, made by one of the biggest Heavy Metal bands." (Galeria Musical); That's what some of the reviews say about the album. And if that wasn't enough, Uganga's singer, Manu “Joker” Henriques, was elected the 7th “Best Vocalist in Brazil of 2019”, in the poll carried out among readers of Roadie Crew magazine. Besides Manu "Joker", Uganga is currently also formed by Christian Franco and Umberto Buldrini on guitars, Raphael Franco on bass and Marco Henriques on drums.
