chillhum creates indie pop music that is a blend of styles you wouldn't predict. Whether it’s placing smooth acoustic guitar over synths and drums out of an electronic anthem, or writing heartfelt singer songwriter vocals over a modern synth pop instrumental, if it’s coming from him it’s guaranteed to be just the right blend of fresh and familiar. A solo project entirely crafted by 24 year old Ethan Bedell, chillhum’s music has the maker’s creative DNA in every fiber of what he releases. Taking an indie pop feel and bringing it in a new direction by adding elements from several of his other favorite genres, this is a sound you won’t find coming from anyone else. Whether you enjoy modern electronic music, 90’s alternative, reggae, or pop, you will be able to find something within chillhum’s music to grab on to - and that’s the goal. “My songs are an amalgam of sounds that are special to me, and I think that mixture is what keeps them consistent even while varying greatly in style. At the heart of the vision, the goal is to connect with people while being as authentically myself as possible and to give them something totally fresh that somehow still feels like the things they already enjoy.” That personality is clearly apparent in everything chillhum touches, as is his ability to keep things sounding novel and classic at the same time.
