Biography
Every song from Arlissa is a work of understated elegance, each moment lit up in her mesmerizing melodies and breathtaking vocals. But at the heart of that finespun sound is a fierce refusal to compromise her vision. A perfect showcase for her gracefully sculpted pop, Arlissa’s debut EP "The Lovers" took shape from a profound period of personal and creative growth—a turning point she describes as “the first time I’ve ever felt completely free to make whatever I wanted.” After breaking out of her most recent record deal, the Los Angeles-based musician spent much of 2020 reconnecting with her spirituality and, in turn, reflecting on her past experience in love and life and art. “All these things I’d been in denial about my whole life finally came to the surface,” says Arlissa. “I learned so much about myself and my behaviors, and I wrote a lot of songs from that space.” "The LOVERS" takes its title from the tarot card corresponding to Arlissa’s birth. “I’m a very relationship-oriented person, and a lot of my writing comes from a place of being connected to someone else,” she says. “This EP was about letting go of that need to be connected all the time—it’s about figuring out who I really am, and learning how to have value on my own.” "The LOVERS" released on February 12, 2021
