Biography
Beddy Rays started making music together soon after they first met on the primary school oval back in the day. The release of weekend anthem ‘Sobercoaster’ in 2020 really started shaking things up for these fun-loving larrikins. The cracker of a tune echoed throughout backyards of Australia during triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2020 and has now amassed over 10 million streams. It’s an understatement to say that 2022 was a massive milestone year for the band. Their highly anticipated and fully independent debut self-titled album landed them Spotlight Album on triple j and peaked at No. 8 on the ARIA Album Chart (as well as No.1 Vinyl and No. 2 Australian Album in release week). The band was nominated for ‘Breakthrough Artist’ at the 2022 ARIAs and lead single ‘Handful’ came in at #87 in the Hottest 100 of 2022. These days it’s almost impossible not to recognise a Beddy Rays track, as their music has become a distinctive and carefully curated recipe involving all the right ingredients: heartfelt lyrics, huge hooks, mosh-worthy riffs and a lingering sense of comradery and good vibes that underpins everything they create. With humble personalities and a knack for knowing how to have a bloody good time, everyone wants to be friends with Beddy Rays.
