Biography
NOCTE OBDUCTA was founded in 1995 as the successor of the band Deshîra. Through the years, the band made a name for themselves in the German, and later European extreme Metal Scene. Stylistically, NOCTE OBDUCTA are rooted in Black Metal, shaping their sound over the years and founding their own stylistic and lyrical Universe. Progressive Songstructures, German vocals, harsh Black Metal and extensive instrumental sequences, that bring in many musical 'outside the box-influences' alike. Now, 25 years after the foundation, it is already the 13th album with the title "Irrlicht (Es schlägt dem Mond ein kaltes Herz)" that was released in December, 2020. Returning to their stylistic roots, with this album NOCTE OBDUCTA are picking up many moments from the band’s history in an unpolished, manner. Yet the lyrical manner, and the song structures make the listener recognize instantly - the band is back, and they're not in a good mood. More than once you have to think of the “Nektar” concept, but on this new album NOCTE OBDUCTA act much more ruthless than they did back in those “Nektar” days, where there were hints, that all might not be lost. 'Irrlicht' puts an end to the concept of hope. The artwork underlines the reduction to the essential 'less is more'-concept and may seem brusque at times. Nevertheless, the overall concept is coherent as usual and once again reveals the constant restlessness and creative urge of Marcel, the mastermind of the band.
