Biography
Born and raised in Ethiopia until the age of 13, Eyasu is a multilingual gospel singer, songwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles. He has been performing professionally since 2004. During his first decade, he was the co-lead singer and executive producer of two albums Songs of Zion & Zemenat Aylewetuhem with his brother Abraham Teklemariam. Their debut marked a fresh chapter in Ethiopian gospel music, expanding the existing pentatonic sound with elements of diatonic scales and harmonies. During his early years, Eyasu also participated in various music groups, traveling and singing at churches and conferences in 44 states. To date he has been featured on over 18 albums and singles. He also had the privilege of serving as associate pastor and director of music at multiple churches. While briefly living in NC, he performed lead vocals and produced the soundtrack for the live Easter drama The Lost Shepherd. He went on to serve as Youth President of the Apostolic Church International for 8 years. After recently completing his doctorate, Dr. Eyasu serves the community as a nonprofit executive and professor. His solo album From Every Nation came out in 2018. Ethiopia, California or anywhere in the world his passion to spread the good news and inspire the next generation of artists remains the same.
