Biography

In 2009, this four-man band THORNAPPLE was formed around Yoon Sunghyun(Vocal) and Sim Jaehyun(Bass). Unlike their initial style of sound, they got the color of their own and developed their quality with dreamlike, elegant style of shoegazing sound. Band THORNAPPLE with inimitable, unique and sensitive lyrics and psychedelic sound, consolidated their position by the power of music itself, without any advertising through debut album [I Often Stammer and Forget the Way to Sleep] on 2010. As all exclusive concerts sold out and performing in a number of festivals since the release of the second full-length album [Strange Weather] on 2014, THORNAPPLE was positioned as a mainstream band of Hongdae scene. In 2016, they released EP [Capital Disease] and successfully completed the first national tour. THORNAPPLE will continue to show their own unique creations that do not get caught up in the trend. In 2019, they also participated in the ‘Far East Union Vol.4’, an Asian tour linking Korea, Japan and Taiwan. In July they released the third full-length album [Enlightenment], was once again proved their irreplaceable color to the public, and also nominated for the best modern rock album of the year with this album and the best modern rock track of the year with a song ‘February’ at 17th Korea Popular Music Award. In 2020, successfully finished their concert 'Memory of Water’. By this concert, THORNAPPLE once again proved their worth and musicality.
